# Yigo

> Yigo is a free search engine for 3D printable models from Thingiverse, Cults3D and Creality Cloud. It has no accounts and no ads, and every result links to the model's page on its own site, where people download it.

Yigo doesn't host model files. For each model it knows the title, tags, picture and link, and, where the site publishes them, the price (free or paid), publish date and number of likes. Search is classic keyword ranking with no AI: rare words count more, results with all the words in the title come first, and poor matches are left out. AI assistants and apps are welcome to search Yigo for the people using them.

## Searching for someone

- `GET https://yigo.kvchub.com/search?q=articulated+dragon` returns JSON, best match first.
- Options: `limit` (1 to 40, default 24), `price=free` or `price=paid`, `sort=best|popular|newest|oldest`, `exact=1` (no spelling correction).
- Each result has `title`, `url` (the model's own page: send people there), `source` (the site), `thumbnail_url`, `tags`, `free` (null when unknown), `published_at`, `likes` (on its own site; null when unknown) and `score` (relevance, 0 to 1).
- When a word was misspelled, the answer includes `corrected_query`. An empty `results` means nothing matched well; try fewer or more general words.
- To give people a page to open instead: `https://yigo.kvchub.com/?q=articulated+dragon`.

## Browsing without a query

- `GET https://yigo.kvchub.com/models?sort=popular` returns 24 models a page as JSON (`&page=2` and on, while `has_more` is true), each site's most liked first.
- `sort=newest` orders by publish date. Add `topic=` for one kind of model: `toys`, `animals`, `home`, `tools`, `gadgets`, `art`, `cosplay`, `miniatures` or `printer` (printer parts).

## Please

- Search for what the person asked, one search at a time. Don't copy the catalogue in bulk.
- Link people to each model's own page (`url`): the designer's files, license and comments are there.
- Each model's license is chosen by its designer and shown on its page; some don't allow selling prints.
- Limits: 30 searches a minute per IP address (then HTTP 429 with `Retry-After`).
