Yigo is a free search engine for 3D printable models. We collect as little as we can: no accounts and no ads, and we never sell or share anything about you. Yigo can learn which kinds of models you like, to pick your feed, but that happens in your own browser and is never sent to us (see Personalization). Yigo sets no cookies for visitors (see Cookies).
What Yigo keeps
- Daily totals. How many pages were opened, how many searches were made and how many found nothing, how many results were opened on each site, how many previews and suggestions were used, and how many favorites were saved. These are counts only: a saved favorite adds one to a number, never which model or who. They never include your IP address, a cookie, a device ID or anything else that links one visit to another. We keep them for up to 400 days.
- Search words. The words typed into the search box, counted per day, so we can see what people look for and add the models they can’t find. Nothing is kept about who searched. We delete them after 90 days. Please don’t type personal details, such as your name or address, into the search box.
- Trending searches. The home page can show popular search words. A search only appears there if at least five searches used it in the past week and it found models, and never if it looks like it could be personal (for example, it contains an email address, a link or a long number).
- Visits from search engines, other automated programs and our own status checks aren’t counted.
What stays on your device
Your choices of light or dark theme and grid or list layout, whether the / shortcut is on, the models you save as favorites, and what Yigo has learned about the models you like (see Personalization) are kept in your own browser (its “local storage” and “IndexedDB”). They’re never sent to us, and there are no accounts, so nobody else can see them. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
Personalization: the feed and “For you”
To pick models you’ll like, Yigo notices what you do on it, in your own browser:
- the words you search for;
- the models you preview, open on their own site, and save or remove as favorites;
- how long a model stays on your screen in the feed or in a preview (scrolling quickly past counts a little against that kind of model, a longer look counts for it).
For each of these, Yigo keeps only the model’s words (from its title and tags), which site it’s on and whether it’s free, with the time and how much it counts. No AI is involved: it adds up these amounts, and older ones count less (half as much after two weeks). They’re kept for up to 90 days (at most the latest 5,000), along with which models the feed showed you in the last 3 days, so it doesn’t show them again. In a private window, all of it is forgotten when you close the window.
None of this is sent to Yigo, shared or sold. Your browser uses it to choose the order of the models it has already fetched, and to move search results you’re likely to prefer up a little (the best match still comes first). To find models about your interests, your browser asks Yigo for models with up to 6 of the words you seem to like most (for example “dragon, planter”), with nothing that says who you are. Yigo doesn’t store or count these requests; like every request, they pass through Cloudflare (see Other companies).
You’re in control. At the bottom of the Favorites page you can see what Yigo has learned, delete it, or turn personalization off. Turning it off deletes everything learned, Yigo records nothing more, and you see the same feed and results as everyone else. Clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes it too.
The Convert page: your 3D files
The Convert page works entirely in your browser. 3D files you open there are read by your browser and never sent to Yigo or anyone else, and the files you download are made on your device. Yigo only counts that the page was opened, like any other page. Your browser remembers the format you chose last, in its local storage.
Cookies
Yigo sets no cookies for visitors. The only cookie Yigo sets is the sign-in cookie for the site owner’s admin panel.
Cloudflare, which protects Yigo from attacks, may now and then ask a visitor whose
connection looks like an attack to confirm they’re a person. Passing that check stores
Cloudflare’s cf_clearance cookie, for that check only and for a limited time.
Yigo doesn’t use it to recognise you, count you or show you ads.
Other companies involved
- Cloudflare runs the servers Yigo uses. Like any web host, it handles technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, and keeps short-lived logs. If it ever asks you to confirm you’re a person (see Cookies), that check looks at signals from your browser to tell people from automated programs (see Cloudflare’s privacy notice for the check). Search runs there too, without AI: your search words are used only to answer your search and for the counts above. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Model sites. The pictures in results load straight from the site that publishes each model, such as Thingiverse, Cults3D or Creality Cloud. Those sites receive your IP address when your browser fetches a picture, but Yigo asks your browser not to tell them which Yigo page you were on.
- When you open a model on its own site, that site can see that you came from Yigo (just “yigo.kvchub.com”, never your search words), and its own privacy policy applies from then on.
If you email us
We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we delete them when they’re no longer needed.
Children
Yigo doesn’t ask anyone for personal information, including children, and has no accounts to sign up for.
Your choices
Because Yigo doesn’t keep anything that identifies you, there’s usually nothing about you to look up or delete. What Yigo learns for your feed is only in your browser, so you delete it yourself, on the Favorites page (see Personalization). If you think we have something about you, such as an email you sent, email yigo@kvchub.com and we’ll show it to you or delete it.
Security
Every connection to Yigo is encrypted (HTTPS), and the admin panel is protected by a password and a secure sign-in.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
